Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop: Cambridge Cardigan!

This week, I had the opportunity to test a pattern by Peek-A-Boo Patterns! The new Cambridge Cardigan!

I’ve only sewn her kids pattern in the past, so I was excited to have the chance to sew one of her adult patterns.

The size range is huge, which, as a plus size girl, I really appreciate. It went together quick and easy, and the outcome is beautiful! I’ll be adding many more to my wardrobe, I’m sure– especially with the cold weather coming. These are great for layering!

I used THIS and THIS jersey fabric from Mabel Madison. Talk about high quality, and GORGEOUS! And it is so soft and comfy. I don’t want to take it off! AND, if you’re sewing for boys, you MUST check out her selection of boy fabrics! Plus– right now they’re having a 15% off sale and FREE shipping on all orders!

Yes, my eyes are closed, but it was the only pic I had where you could see the front! lol.

Trick or Treat!! (Free bag tutorial!!)

I decided to make trick or treat bags for the girls this year. I have wanted to every year for a while now, but other things always seem to get in the way. So, this year I was determined to get it done! I even got them done EARLY! And, I managed to make a couple extras for my adorable niece and nephew.

I used this FREE tutorial from The Cottage Mama! I just love how they turned out, and the girls do too.

The applique I used is from Lynnie Pinnie. I thought it added the perfect little personalized touch to each bag.

Elsa Dress!!

Elsa Dress Collage

I’m BAAAAACCCCKKKKK

Sigh, I don’t know what is going on with me! I WILL get back into blogging…. This is step one.

Anyway– My most recent project that I wanted to share with you all was this beautiful Elsa dress for my daughter

Elsa Dress 3

Not only was it a pretty quick and easy sew, the pattern was FREE! This thrifty mom loves free!! Get it from Peek-A-Boo pattern shop, HERE!

Using my Joann’s coupons, I raided their section of Frozen fabric (yes, there is an entire section of it at my store). We also recently got a fabric section in our Walmart that I took advantage of. All together, this dress cost a whopping $12!!!! So exciting! That’s cheaper than the lesser quality dresses you find at the store.

My little Queen Linnaea is thrilled, and would live in it if I let her! Happy kid= happy mommy ❤

….

Sorry! I’ve neglected my blog 😦 Life is….well, CRAZY! It seems I just never have a moment to sit and write. Or, when I do have a moment, I’m spending it unwinding and relaxing. However, I am trying to get myself motivated to start really blogging again. I enjoy it so much, and really miss it.

With that being said, my favorite time is coming up again– Kids Clothes Week!!! July 21st-27th. Unfortunately (for me anyways), that falls during a week that we’ll be on vacation. BUMMER! (Or not…. I’ll be on VACATION!!!)  SO, my goal is to get some sewing done the week prior. I need to get some things sewn to take on vacation with us anyways, and this is the perfect opportunity! So, mark your calendars!

I also have several recipes I’ve been wanting to share! My low carb recipes seem to be my biggest hits, so I plan to share a few more that we’ve fallen in love with. Hang in there, while I work on getting my blog mojo back!!

As always, thanks for reading!!!

Kids Clothes Week!

It’s that time again! (Let’s not mention the slacking I did last time around….) Kids Clothes Week starts TOMORROW!! What’s on your list? I’m using this as an opportunity to make my girls Easter dresses, and hopefully get a few spring/summer outfits done. I’ll try to be better about updating the blog this time around, too!

Here’s the pattern I’m using for their Easter dress (IT’S FREE!!!):  The Cottage Mama Party Dress

Here’s some of my favorites for this summer:

Kids Clothes Week- Day 4

Today I made one of my all time favorite patterns, The Aurthi by Tikatuly, for my 10 month old (Ack, 10 months already!! And did I mention that she’s been walking for a month now? Time needs to slow down!!!)  There are several different hem designs, lengths, necklines, AND it’s reversible. So many different options, and a great pattern to showcase a cute print. I also got to use those awesome KAM snaps again! I used an Alexander Henry print that I found hidden in the depths of my fabric closet. I forgot I even bought it…. perhaps that’s a sign that I buy too much fabric. Nah! You can NEVER have too much fabric!

Onto the cuteness!!  (excuse my grainy pics… I can’t wait until it warms up and we can get some nice outdoor pictures!)

Kids Clothes Week- Day 3

For the last few weeks, Linnaea has been obsessed with pretending to be a super hero. She grabs her blankie, tucks it into the collar of her shirt, and is off the save the day! Obviously, a super hero’s cape is an extremely important part of their wardrobe. So, mommy just HAD to make her a special one! And once Linnaea found out that I was making one for her, she insisted that little sister get one too.

Lucky for us, Peek-A-Boo Patterns has a FREE Super Kid Cape Pattern! So, that’s what I worked on today. These went today quickly and easily. Linnaea got to pick out what fabrics we used, and we finished it off with KAM snaps at the neck. (If you haven’t already discovered KAM snaps, I highly encourage you to go check them out! You’ll be putting snaps on EVERYTHING!!)

Here’s our super heroes in action!

I think the chevron looks great! Linnaea has an eye for fabric already :)
