Super Stay At Home Mommy!

Adventures in the life of a stay at home wife and mom

Crib/Toddler Bed Sheets

Now that we are all moved into our new house, I was able to get the sewing machine out again! I’ve been wanting to make sheets for the baby’s crib, and finally got the opportunity to (and while I was at it I went ahead and made some for Linnaea’s bed too!) I used THIS awesome tutorial from MADE, and I am in love with them! I will definitely be making all of their sheets from here on out… It was super easy, and all you need is 2 yards of fabric, 1/4″ elastic, and your sewing machine! It took me just a couple hours to make 3 sheets. The trickiest part is the elastic, but once I got the first one figured out the other 2 came together really quick and easy.

Here’s what we ended up with!!!

These are actually for Linnaea's toddler bed. She LOVES fishies

Burp Rag Tutorial

With less than 11 weeks left until the baby is due, I have really started sewing like crazy to get some things prepared for her arrival. I’ll be sure to share all my projects and the tutorials I used to make them. I’ve found that making things myself has been a HUGE money saver for us! I’m a big sale shopper (and you all know my addiction to thrift stores and up-cycling old things!), so I’ve managed to get all of my supplies at half price or less!

The first project I wanted to share was baby burp rags. A friend of mine shared this tutorial with me (from Cloud9 Fabrics) and I LOVE them! They are super quick and easy to throw together. I made 8 of them, and it only took me a little over an hour from cut to finish. And this is a great way to use up some of those spare fat quarters you have laying around! Each fat quarter will make 2 burp rags, and just 1 yard of flannel (for the back) is all you need for a set of 8. So, 4 fat quarters and a yard of flannel later….. This is what I ended up with–

There are 2 of each pattern. Just LOVE them!
